Defence & Security

Engineering for defence and security craft.

We design and engineer fast patrol boats, interceptors, special-operations craft and unmanned surface vessels for shipyards and defence integrators. It is the same naval architecture we do every day — hull form, structure, stability, seakeeping — with tighter confidentiality and harder operating profiles.

What we work on

01

Special-operations craft

Low-profile boats that carry a small team and can be launched and recovered from a larger vessel.

02

Interceptors & patrol boats

High-speed planing hulls for coast guard, border and harbour security, designed around the loads the crew takes at speed.

03

Unmanned surface vessels

Hull form, stability and motion analysis for autonomous and remotely operated boats.

04

Support & logistics boats

Workboats, RIBs and transport craft for naval bases and training units.

Case study

10.9 m special-operations craft

A low-profile GFRP craft built to carry a small special-operations team, designed for launch and recovery from a larger vessel. We delivered the whole design package: naval architecture, exterior and interior design, and the general arrangement.

Client, mission profile and performance figures are confidential.

Engineering we deliver on these projects

Each item is a service we already run for commercial yards. On defence work the scope, inputs and deliverables are agreed under NDA.

How we work on defence projects

  1. 01

    Confidentiality first

We sign your non-disclosure agreement before a single drawing or requirement is shared.

  2. 02

    A small, named team

A small team of named engineers stays on the project from start to finish.

  3. 03

    Your name stays private

We never publish a defence client, project name or performance figure without written permission. That is why the case on this page has no name.

  4. 04

    Delivered the yard's way

Drawings and calculations come in the formats the shipyard and the classification society need.

Questions

Do you work directly for navies?

Usually we work as the design and engineering subcontractor of the shipyard or integrator holding the contract. At concept and specification stage we can also work with the procurement authority directly.

Will you sign our NDA and security requirements?

Yes. We sign your NDA before any information is shared and work to the security requirements in your contract.

Do you design weapon systems?

No. We design the vessel. Mission equipment is built in using the weights, volumes, foundations and interfaces the integrator gives us.

Which rules do you design to?

Classification rules for high-speed and light craft (e.g. TL, BV, DNV, LR), ISO 12215 for small-craft structure, or the naval standard named in your specification.

What about export controls?

Where export controls or end-user certificates apply, the contracting party holds the licences and we work within them.

Developing a defence project?

Send us the requirements under NDA and we will come back with scope, schedule and the team.
