Naval engineering for shipyards — yachts and workboats
Shipyards hand us the engineering for the yachts and workboats they build: ISO 12215-5 laminate plans, structural and stability calculations, CFD, engine foundations and class drawings. We agree a defined scope, run the calculations and hand back documented results your team can build from and submit — from one naval architecture team in Istanbul and London.

ISO 12215-5 scantlings and composite laminate plans
Calculated to the standard. Drawn for the laminating shop. We calculate hull, deck and superstructure scantlings to ISO 12215-5:2019 and turn the result into laminate plans a yard can laminate from: ply-by-ply schedules, core layouts, reinforcements and a report your notified body can review..
See the service →- Scantling calculation report to ISO 12215-5:2019 for hull, deck and superstructure
- Laminate schedule / ply book: every ply, fibre weight, orientation and sequence
- Laminate plan drawings with zones, ply drops, overlaps, core layout and local reinforcements
- Stiffener and bulkhead layout with their laminate stacks
CFD analysis
See the flow before you cut the steel.
→03Seakeeping analysis
How the vessel behaves when the sea is not calm.
→04Engine foundation calculations
The structure between the engine and the hull.
→05Structural design and FEA
Scantlings that satisfy the rules and the weight budget.
→06Stability analysis
Stability that is calculated, documented and approved.
→07Resistance and powering
The right engine, the right propulsor, the speed you were promised.
→08Noise and vibration assessment
Find resonance on paper, not on sea trials.
→09Class and production drawings
From approved design to drawings the yard can build from.
→10Concept and contract design
From the first sketch to a package a yard can price.
→11Technical specification, tender and procurement support
Buy the right boat, on paper first.
→12Refit, conversion and repowering
Change the boat without changing what keeps it safe.
→13Owner's representation and sea trials
An engineer on your side at the yard.
→Who we work with
Shipyards
Extra engineering capacity when the order book is full, or specialist analysis your in-house team does not run every day. We work to your production standards and schedule.
Design offices
Independent analysis behind your design: CFD, seakeeping, structural checks and stability. You keep the design lead; we supply the numbers and the reports.
Owners' representatives and projects
A technical second opinion before decisions are locked. We check performance claims, review structural and stability assumptions, and flag risks early.
Operators
Engineering for refits, repowering and operational changes — new engines, added weight, revised routes. Clear answers on what changes and what it requires.
How we work
- 01
Scope and inputs
We agree the question, the applicable rules and the deliverables, then list the inputs we need. Scope and fee are fixed before work starts.
- 02
Analysis
Our naval architects build the models and run the calculations. Assumptions are recorded as we go, so every result is traceable.
- 03
Report and review
You receive a structured report with methods, results and recommendations. We walk your team through it and answer questions.
- 04
Support through class and build
We respond to class comments, revise calculations when the design changes and support the yard during construction.
Frequently asked questions
Can you work as an extension of our own engineering team?
Yes. We work to your templates, drawing standards and file formats, and coordinate directly with your engineers or project manager.
Do you take on single calculations, or only full packages?
Both. A single engine foundation check or a full hydrodynamic and structural package — the scope is set by your project.
Which classification rules do you work to?
We work to the rules your project is built to, including major class society rules and ISO standards for small craft. The applicable rule set is agreed at scoping.
How is confidentiality handled?
Your hull lines, drawings and data stay your property. We sign NDAs as standard and do not publish client work without written consent.
Have an engineering scope in hand?
Send us the vessel, the question and your timeline. We reply with a defined scope, a list of required inputs and a fixed proposal.
