GUREN Design 47 m anchor handling tug design

Engineering for shipyards — yachts and workboats.

Laminate plans to ISO 12215-5, structural and stability calculations, CFD, engine foundations and class drawings — the engineering work shipyards hand to us for the yachts and workboats they build. We also license ready workboat designs.

Working with us

Engineering for your yard, designs to license

Shipyards bring us the calculations they need for the boats on their slipways — a 24 m sailing yacht's laminate plan, a motor yacht's engine foundations, a workboat's stability booklet. Same naval architects, same offices in Istanbul and London.

How a job runs

  1. 01Scope and inputsWe agree the question, the applicable rules and the deliverables, then list the inputs we need. Scope and fee are fixed before work starts.
  2. 02AnalysisOur naval architects build the models and run the calculations. Assumptions are recorded as we go, so every result is traceable.
  3. 03Report and reviewYou receive a structured report with methods, results and recommendations. We walk your team through it and answer questions.
  4. 04Support through class and buildWe respond to class comments, revise calculations when the design changes and support the yard during construction.

Questions shipyards ask

What does licensing a GUREN Pro design mean?

A shipyard builds one of our existing design platforms under a licence agreement. We supply the engineering package for the agreed scope and support the yard technically through class review and construction.

Can a design be adapted to our requirements?

Yes. Hull, propulsion, deck equipment and accommodation can be adapted to a specific duty, operating area, flag or class requirement. Adaptation scope is agreed before the package is prepared.

Are the designs class-approved?

Designs are developed to recognised class rules (e.g. BV, DNV, LR). Class approval is obtained for the specific build, in coordination with the building yard and the chosen class society.

Where can the vessels be built?

Licensing is not tied to one yard or country. Tell us your intended build location and we will confirm how the package and support can be delivered there.
